Mind Transplant

It dawned on me recently that I need a mind transplant. The bible talks about renewing my mind.   Roman 12:1-3  I also have heard that that there are 2 aspects to our mind: the conscious and the unconscious. So why do I need to have to have my mind transformed or renewed as the case may be?

  • I can think like the creator
  • Helps me to put off the doubts, hurts, biases, sin, bitterness, rebellion etc.
  • I  would be more fruitful
  • I can have the mind of Christ  1 cor 2:16

Sacrifice of Praise

In the new testament, we are no longer obliged to bring the sacrifice of flesh in terms of killing animals or grains as described by this scripture which is one of many in the old testament:

Numbers 28:1-8 (The Lord said to Moses, “Give this command to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time my food offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me.’ Say to them: ‘This is the food offering you are to present to the Lord: two lambs a year old without defect, as a regular burnt offering each day. Offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight, together with a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives. This is the regular burnt offering instituted at Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord. The accompanying drink offering is to be a quarter of a hin of fermented drink with each lamb. Pour out the drink offering to the Lord at the sanctuary. Offer the second lamb at twilight, along with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering that you offer in the morning. This is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord). Praise leads to increase

Let the people praise you O God, then the earth would yield her increase. Psalm 67

If the earth yields increase you benefit. This can equally be your personal life yielding increase.

Praising God is acknowledging that he is above all. He is all knowing, omnipresent.

The choice is ours, we are not forced to do anything but the one that has tried this method is encouraging us to try it.

Praise is uttered, it is not something we just think about. In fact, all spiritual weapons are launched through the mouth. This is why the phrase is always used ‘a closed mouth is a closed destiny’

Let us begin to use our mouth positively to praise God in order to see our land blessed. The blessing of our land is our personal blessing.

What are you saying?

Indeed What are you saying with your mouth. A lot has been written about the effect of our words and our thoughts and many are not convinced that this is biblical. Today I want to investigate some of this from the scriptures. And there are a lot but not all wilt of l be covered today.

I create the fruit of the lips Isaiah 57:19

What is your lips producing, is it producing good fruits, good enough for others to eat.

Somebody once said ‘Every time you speak you create your future’, this is so true.

Say to them, As truly as I live, said the LORD, as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you: American Standard Version Say unto them, As I live Numbers 14:28

Once again what are you saying?

Do not let your problems dictate what you speak. Speak what you want to see and not what you see. This is what is called creating your world. Yes you can create the world you want to have by ensuring positive words come out of your lips.

We cannot control the thoughts that come into our minds but we are in control of what comes out of our lips. By changing what we speak. negative thoughts do not take residence.

Thank God that he gives you the ability to think right and speak right as the Word says ‘I have the mind of Christ’. 1Cor 2:16

Both life and death are in our tongue and those words come through our lips.

He leads me on the path of righteousness

Many people get rattled by this word righteousness. There is nothing to be worried about. It simply means right standing, morally right, good, upright, justified. If someone is leading me in the right path I sure should be grateful especially if he is my creature. As he speaks, I listen. As I speak he also listens.

The only problem is ‘Am I following’ the ‘Chief Navigator’? Can I hear correctly and see clearly where I am being directed to follow. We all have the opportunity to follow without taking detours or diversions. There are lots of daily distractions that prevents us from arriving at our destinations on time and accurately.

Some could be your biases and prejudices, previous knowledge and past experiences. Sometimes we have to silence the inner voice to prevent distractions. Sometimes we have to say no to fears and determine to do or go where we may never thought possible.

I think at this point, I need to say thank you to my navigator, God through his Son Jesus (the Lord our righteousness).

I also need to daily ask for the grace to listen right and the grace to see clearly. I also need the grace to discern the people he brings my way and the message they may be carrying. As I acknowledege him, he directs my path, Proverbs 3:6 and restores my soul when troubled. He also promises to guide me with His own eye.

It also says he’s leading me

for His name’s sake.

His reputation is also at stake. There it is important I am doing all the above to ensure His reputation is intact. I will discuss the various ways of ensuring we follow the right path. This will also depend on individual beliefs and preferences.

It is important to point out that we do not and cannot earn righteousness. It is a gift through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Once made righteousness we should have the capability to ‘do right’ as long as we are following! We are sheep while he is the shepherd. If we hear the voice of the shepherd we would be let right. We need to be in fellowship so we can hear the Voice.

Father, thank you for hearing me

A man had died for days. Despite informing Jesus of the death, he did not go straightaway. When he eventually got there, people were already crying and lost hope because the dead had been in the morgue for 4days.

When he got there , he did not pray long prayers. All he said was “Father I thank you for hearing me”. He then gave a command for Lazarus to come out. Lazarus came out.

What is the Lazarus in your life, that situation that ‘stinketh’ and looks like a done deal .  You have learned to live with it even though you wish it could change.

Today the master says “Come out” of it. As you believe and confess your life is seeing a change and transformation.

Even the Son of God had to be grateful and acknowledge Him for the situation to change.  He says in his word that we can do more than he did.  I believe it and it shall be done unto me.

Rejoice in Adversity

My last post discussed briefly the reason for thanking God in the face of problems.

There is a seed of equivalent benefit in every Adversity. When unpleasant things happen, we receive it with joy expecting that it’s happened for a reason and that something of great benefit can come out of the negative situation.

By acknowledging the situation and being grateful for the opportunity to pass through,  the grace to see the reason for the circumstance would be revealed in due course.

We are on a journey in life and not even the bible promised that all will be rosy. It did promise that as we have received the Son, the grace to sail through is given to us.

I will fight for you

‘You will not need to fight in this battle, take your position, stand still  and see the deliverance of the Lord’ 2 Chronicles 20:17. ‘Fear not, be not dismayed. Go out against them.’

What battles are you facing?  What fears are you reluctant to voice out but is slowly eating you up?  Remember the definition of FEAR is false evidence appearing real.

If there is an impending  battle and a man of war tells you to position yourself but you will not to fight, what would you be worried about?

Can you imagine turning up for battle with not battle gear but with singers. Yes singers  on the battlefield.

This can only happen because you believe you believe the fight is not yours to fight.

If you believe, now, give thanks even as you find yourself in the midst of your battlefield!

I receive hence I’m grateful

Should I also be grateful when I have not received?  hand

The answer is clearly yes. I am expectant therefore I am saying thank you for that which I am expecting.

‘Expectation is the mother of manifestations’ as the saying goes.

As the scriptures says ‘as they have spoken, so i will perform’.  If we grumble and continually live on grumble alley, we will the eat the fruit of it.

Isaiah 57:19  ‘I create the fruit of the lips’

If we are rejoicing and expectant, even if the exact thing you are expecting doesn’t show up, something better may be in store for which your gratitude would be well worth it.

I believe so I act!

First if we believe the promises of God in the bible, we should be doing more of praising than asking. We need to ask ourselves whether we actually read the Book enough to accept  the teachings and apply them.  If we believe them we will apply and if we apply we are accepting and believing the instructions of the Book. It does says we prosper by meditating daily on the words we find in it.

I love this scripture in Isaiah 55:
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it’.        As the words never return void, it means they will eventually accomplish their purpose. It may not be instantly but will it will definitely come to accomplish it’s purpose in your life in due time.

You can ensure you get more from the word by systematic study and not just reading. There are many bible study systems around that can help with studying the word.  You can also device your own. No matter what,  never end your day without looking in the book or any book relating to your belief even if what you read doesn’t make sense. We are spiritual beings and the Word is spirit and live. Imagin giving your spirit a bath/wash on a daily basis, that is how what helps me to read the word daily. I need to shower daily otherwise I don’t feel right. The same way your spirit man need a daily shower in order to receive from the spirit world.

The reading of the manufacturer’s manual enables me to praise Him more because it says ‘He dwells in the praise of his people  (Psalm 22:3)’.  If the almighty God indwells my praise, then I need to be praising him more in order to get to His heart. As parents, if our children praise us often we would do more for them, it’s natural. No one gets motivaed by grumbling people. Positivity drives the world forward while negativity brings  a lot of destruction and stagnancy.

As you believe the word you will  begin to act more positively and see more results. If the Word says fear not, be courageous, believe it and know that you may have to face a challenge that will require you to be fearless. Believe that the Creator is giving you the ability to be fearless. Read stories of people who overcame fear. We all know about the story of Daniel, who refused to compromise and was placed in lion’s den. He survived because he was protected. You too can be protected if you believe.

Stay focused, keep believing, take those small and giant leaps of faith and all will turn out well.
