Ingratitude vaccine

A man woke up one wet morning  tired and still half awake, he tries to remember the dream. In the dream, ‘he was being inoculated’. ‘ A shot of gratitude for thanksgiving and gratefulness which will inoculate you against many diseases’ , diseases:

  •  Greed
  • Anger
  • Pride
  • Unforgiveness
  • Entitlement
  • Suspicion
  • Bitterness
  • Conceit
  • Resentment
  • Competition

When we learn to be grateful, we loose our sense of entitlement. It is hard to be in competition with something or someone  you are thankful for. It is hard to be suspicious or bitter about something you have thanked your Creator for. Thankfulness will set us free from so many vices and help to live a more fulfilled live. ‘So what if you were sidelined’, be grateful as there might be an hidden blessing in the event.

It is difficult to be anxious when thankful and I think this is why the scripture :

Philippians 4:6-7 With thanksgiving, make your request  known.  If you’ve already thanked for the answer, you cannot be subject to some of the diseases mentioned above. Thankfulness means you got something you did not deserve.

  1. I grew up in a Christian house and in the church with my grandparents. Your website is full of knowledge and wisdom for those who seek it. My family would enjoy your website very much, and I will pass on the good word to my family. Doing a great job!

  2. I read the title of this and was immediately drawn to check it out. It is amazing to me that when you seek, you find.

It is not easy for me to remember to seek the vaccine of for the “diseases” of anger, bitterness, and suspicion. I have learned this lesson many times over the year, but quickly become trapped in the present circumstance. I then become focused on myself and my needs, various and sundry. I am most happy when I let go of that and focus on meeting others needs.

I know this a little bit different than your post, but agree that being grateful helps.

Is this something you struggle with yourself?

    1. Hi Vic

Being grateful helps in all situations as it takes the focus away from us and unto Him.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment.

  3. This is such great advice. God wants us to be at rest. He does not want us to be anxious. He does not want us to struggle. He wants us to trust in him and be thankful. When we are anxious it is because we are trying to trust in ourselves rather than in God and we are overwhelmed. When you let go of entitlement and pride and allow yourself to be led by God you will find a sense of peace.

    1. Hi Neale

      Thanks for stopping by.

Letting go is one of the things we all find difficult.

Only Him can give us the grace when we ask.

  4. Hey kav ;

Your site brings special value to the internet, it shows the hand of God is at work in all walks of life. Your structure and site layout has a simple easy to use feel. I find these days less is good.

keep up the good work, I see the hand of God on your life… Bruce..

  5. You are so right when it comes to gratitude and the list of “diseases” gratitude cures. We should all learn to be more grateful. I’ve been trying to get into the habit of thinking of things I’m grateful for every morning when I first get out of bed. I like to try and start the day this way as it makes for a more positive outcome. Very interesting post and I really enjoyed reading it.
